History

The first mission of John Jameson as an astronaut was unsuccessful: the capsule in which he was located left the Earth's orbit due to malfunctions in the control system that caused the loss of control over the ship. A young superhero, Spider-Man, who began his exploits just two weeks ago, managed to save Jameson by replacing the necessary parts of the control module, after which the ship with the capsule splashed down safely in the ocean. J. Jonah Jameson saw his son's rescue as a publicity stunt to belittle the younger Jameson's accomplishments, and the incident sparked the very first curse on Spider-Man in the pages of the Daily Bugle.

Later, John Jameson again went into space, where he was again haunted by failure - he, presumably during a spacewalk, comes into contact with an unknown virus. After returning to Earth, a side effect of the virus was discovered - Jameson developed superhuman strength. Jason has been fitted with a special organic suit so he won't lose his powers until NASA scientists study the virus. When everyone believed that Spider-Man was involved in a bank robbery, J. Jonah Jameson persuaded his son to use his powers to promote himself on the Internet and thus become a folk hero by defeating Spider-Man. Jameson agreed, but the first meeting with Spider-Man ended in victory for the latter. When the older Jameson learned that Spider-Man was innocent, he tried to stop his son, who still continued to oppose the superhero, but the young Jameson was willing to make amends for his past defeat. When they clashed a second time, Spider-Man managed to neutralize the virus in Jameson's body by using prolonged exposure to electricity. When Jameson woke up, he lost his super-strength.

Some time later, Jameson went on an undercover mission to the moon, the reason for which is still classified information. While collecting lunar soil, he came across a sparkling red gem, very different from anything he had seen there. After the successful completion of the mission, Jameson felt a strange attraction, a desire to possess a unique gem. Jameson and his colleagues made an amulet out of it to wear around the neck, after which John Jameson put it on himself. The image of the Wolf was engraved on the amulet. On the first night of the full moon, Jameson turned into an insane Wolfman - an unusual mutant creature.

For months, Jameson has struggled to find a way to combat being turned into three nights a month, and finally acquires a suit that doesn't let any radiation in, with the goal of wearing it during the moon. However, these attempts were in vain. In his native New York, in the run-up to five months from his first transformation, Jameson began to follow his father, instinctively seeking help. Jay John Jameson didn't believe it when he found out that the Wolf was his son, who took on the nickname "Wolf Man". Jonah then saw the pendant around the Wolfman's neck and only then recognized it as his son. Trying to save Jon's son, Jameson soon discovered something odd - even after getting rid of the amulet, Jameson cannot stop the monthly cycle of transformations. Subsequently, Spider-Man threw the amulet into the river, but the Wolf-Man began to hunt him.

Powers and abilities

John is an experienced pilot and experienced astronaut. He underwent special training in the army, along with special training for members of the Air Force. Proficient in hand-to-hand combat.

Transformed into the Wolfman, Jameson gained strong wolf instincts, the ability to grow claws on his arms and legs. Sharper senses allow him to track targets by scent and see in the dark. It also has a strong healing factor, allowing the most severe wounds to heal.

Real name: Peter Benjamin Parker

Universe: marvel comics

First appearance: august 1962 comic AmazingFantasy

Worldview: good

Place of work: Daily Bugle, photographer

Main weapon: web

Powers and abilities: First of all, in a fight, the Spider can "shoot" the web, or even entangle enemies in real spider cocoons. Also, the hero is excellent at acrobatics, crawls perfectly on horizontal and vertical surfaces - like a real spider, Parker can easily and simply run along the ceiling. A special “sixth sense” warns the hero of the approaching danger, which in comics is called “spider sense”. Subsequently, in the comics, he also gains night vision. Spider-Man's body is much more flexible, strong and resilient than the body of an ordinary person. He is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant. In battles, he often uses superpowers, but there is no doubt that he is able to defeat many enemies in traditional hand-to-hand combat.

Curriculum vitae: At school, Peter Parker was the classic "nerd boy" who loved science, was constantly bullied by boys and scorned by girls. At one of the scientific exhibitions, Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider, after which his body began to change rapidly, gaining new abilities. Over time, Peter Parker puts on a red and blue suit and, taking the pseudonym of Spider-Man, becomes the star of fighting without rules. At the same time, Peter also becomes a very selfish person - he decides to live for himself, remembering the humiliations that other people subjected him to. It is because of Parker's decision "my business is a side" that his uncle Ben eventually dies. From that moment on, Spider-Man changes, becoming a superhero - he decides to fight evil in order to atone for his uncle at least partially, and to be the way Ben would like to see him.

Versions: Like other Marvel heroes, Spider-Man has a huge variety of versions, we will mention only a few. In series Marvel 2099 And Marvel 2211 there are their own "Spider-Man", each living in their own world of the future, and having their own sets of enemies. The 2099 version got into the game, where the noir Spiderman from the universe also appeared MarvelNoir. Spider-Girl lives on Earth 616. There is also a Spiderman in the universe Ultimate, and in the "Victorian" world Marvel 1602.

Friends: many Marvel superheroes from other series, as well as Gwen Stacy, Black Cat and Mary-Jane Watson

Enemies: Venom, Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and others

The Spider-Man universe is a bit unusual for a Marvel superhero. Despite the traditional Marvel “brightness” and a huge number of colored costumes, writer Stan Lee created a very vital universe with a deeply vulnerable protagonist. In fact, the world of Spider-Man is not so much inferior to the universe of Batman. Yes, Spidey's world is a little more fantastic and bright, but otherwise everything is almost the same. There is a big city flooded with criminals of all stripes, and supervillains who use a variety of gadgets in their "work". But most importantly, all the central characters are very deep, well-written, we know many of them even before they “turn” into heroes or villains, which makes such characters especially close to comic book readers.

The Spider-Man universe was born in 1962. As screenwriter Stan Lee later admitted, one of the sources of inspiration for him when creating these comics was another character who bore the nickname "Spider" - a character in the pulp magazine The Spider, who also fought crime (although he was not a superhero). Lee also claimed to have come up with the superhero himself by looking at a common fly crawling up a wall.

One way or another, in August 1962, a new hero made his debut in the magazine AmazingFantasy(an overview of which you will find on the pages of this issue). The start was very successful - after a few months, the creators realized that one of the most commercially interesting heroes of Marvel Comics had been born. It is quite logical that the Spider was soon given his own, "named" comic series, the first issue of which was born in March 1963. The series was named TheAmazingSpider-man, and became one of the longest-running Spider-Man series.

From that moment, the real rise of the Spider began. His own series very quickly became the most popular line of Marvel comics, and young people constantly talked about the hero himself - therefore, new issues of comics did not stay on the shelves of newsstands. Why did this happen? First of all, the Spider-Man stories were comics that were clearly aimed at young readers. They offered the story of an ordinary schoolboy, and then a student of Peter Parker. A simple guy living with an aunt, not very successful with girls, going through exactly the same problems as most comic book readers. The fact that this guy often donned a costume and a mask, turning into a superhero, made the stories even more interesting. As Esquire magazine established in 1965, students at the time ranked Spider on the same level as Che Guevara and Bob Dylan.

Yes, and the stories themselves - they were so exciting and vital that they simply did not allow young people to stop following the adventures of their idol. Already in 1967, the arch was born Spider-Man No More about Peter Parker's attempt to quit being a superhero. Comic title The Night Gwen Stacy Died The year 1973 speaks for itself - this story told about a very big loss in Parker's life, about the loss of his first love, Gwen Stacy, who was killed during a fight with the supervillain Goblin. There were also very joyful events, for example, a comic book TheWedding 1987 when Peter Parker married Mary Jane Watson.

In addition to the "solo" comic series, Spider also has a wide variety of spin-offs and "team" sub-series. The latter include, for example, a line of comics Marvel Team Up, in which Spider-Man "works" together with other heroes and villains of the Marvel universe. Of the spin-offs can be noted ThesensationalSpider-Man(for adult readers) Spider-ManFamily, and relatively recent Avenging Spider-Man launched in 2011. The peculiarity of the latter is that Spider-Man remains the main character in it, but in almost every issue he acts in conjunction with some other character in the Marvel world. Another interesting recent series is TheSuperiorSpider-man, where the feats are already being performed by Doctor Octopus, whose mind lives in the body of Peter Parker. Compared to the classic Spider-Man, this line is much more gritty and dark.

Of course, the development of the Spider-Man universe is not limited to comics alone. Like any cultural phenomenon, over time, this superhero "escaped" from the drawn pages, and set about conquering new heights. The first was the world of animation - back in 1967, the animated series Spider-man(rus. "Spider-Man"), which lasted three seasons on ABC. The main disadvantage of the series is considered to be low budget, the main advantage is the catchy musical theme, which subsequently received many remakes. One way or another, the series became a landmark, and it was in it that many heroes of the Spider universe made their debut on the television screen, such as Mysterio, Electro, Sandman and the Lizard.

In 1977, an attempt was made to conquer new heights - the audience was presented with a television series TheAmazingSpider-Man(rus. "The amazing Spider Man"), a full-fledged live-action television show starring Nicholas Hammond as Spider. The new TV show itself received fairly good ratings. However, it was very unlike the comics - the audience was presented with an ordinary detective series, in the spirit of many popular shows of the 70s, in which Spider-Man and his costume, along with abilities, were only a "bonus" to standard detective stories. For 15 episodes, we did not even see a single supervillain of the "spider" universe, instead of them, the creators of the series were forced to offer viewers their own villains. As expected, the low budget was to blame, which simply did not allow the film crew to “turn around” to its fullest. However, fans were unable to accept the alternative, "television" Spider-Man, and the series was soon cancelled.

A new attempt followed in 1978, and it was even stranger. A Japanese television show (tokusatsu) has been released, once again revisiting the Peter Parker universe. This time, Japanese Takuya Yamashiro became Spider-Man, who received his superpowers from an alien. According to the precepts of anime, in the new show one could admire huge robots and giant machines.

The experiments continued further - already in 1979 the animated series Spider-Woman, which follows the adventures of Jessica Drew, the "female" version of Spider-Man. The show also featured the traditional Spider-Man as a "guest character" for two episodes. The series itself was more of an "adventure" character, its action took place in various picturesque corners of our planet, such as Egypt, the Pacific Islands, Norway and the Amazon. There were 16 episodes in total. Among the enemies are various strange creatures, such as aliens, vampires, ghosts, etc., but Kinpin also appears in the show.

Spiderman received a truly “correct” animated film adaptation in 1981, when he was taken over by a young studio Marvel Production Ltd, created specifically for the release of animated series, by the way, which also worked on the recent Spider-Woman. The studio began releasing a slew of superhero cartoons (including a revamped Fantastic Four animated series) - including a new one Spider-man. Finally, we were shown the most ordinary Peter Parker again, working as a photographer for the Daily Bugle, taking care of his Aunt May. Just the kind of Spider-Man that comic book fans are used to seeing. The show also featured a huge number of Spider-Man's opponents. By the way, in parallel, the series was launched on ABC Spider-ManandHisAmazingfriends(rus. "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends"), positioned as a continuation of the previous "solo" Spider-Man series. The special thing about this show was that, in addition to Spider-Man, other iconic Marvel heroes, such as Iron Man and Captain America, often appeared in it. Also, some characters were introduced into the show that had not previously appeared in comics - we are talking about such superheroes as Firestar and Lightwave, as well as some others.

Almost a decade and a half passed before Spider-Man "dared" to return to television screens. However, when he nevertheless returned - and did it with brilliance. "Return" happened in the famous animated series Spider-Man: The Animated Series(rus. "Spider-Man") in 1994 for the Fox Kids channel. The animated series has 65 episodes, and quite accurately conveys the atmosphere of the original comics, successfully combining fantasy with serious, deep characters. The show was executive produced by Avi Arad and Stan Lee, so it is not surprising that the cartoons turned out to be truly first-class, and were able to stay on the screens for five years, and subsequently were repeatedly reissued on videotapes and DVD. The rights to the animated series are now owned by Disney.

Almost immediately after completion TheAnimatedSeries we were introduced to the cartoon Spider-ManUnlimited(Russian "Invincible Spider-Man"), also from Fox. And in this show, which was born in 1999, experiments with the universe continued again. This time, Spider-Man ends up on the planet Anti-Earth, inhabited by intelligent animals - beasts. Anti-Earth, by the way, is well known to fans of comics, as it has already appeared earlier in graphic stories of the 70s. The Spider has a new costume, new friends and new enemies. However, the public did not really like the experiment - the series was able to stay on the screens for only one season, with 13 episodes.

The same number of episodes were in the animated series Spider-Man: The New Animated Series(rus. "The new Spiderman"), which was released in 2003. The show, again for the Fox Kids channel, this time tried to wow viewers with CGI. Other features of the cartoon include a number of its own, "exclusive" villains, as well as a truthful depiction of the more "tough" side of Spiderman's character.

The last two animated series in the Spider-Man universe are also made with their own twists. Series The Spectacular Spider-Man(rus. "The New Adventures of Spider-Man"), based on the comic book series of the same name, was released in 2008. The series turned out to be very successful, largely due to the deep, well-developed characters - the same they were in the famous 1994 show. The new series ran for two seasons, after which Stan Lee (who worked on the show as a consultant) left. In 2012, this cartoon was replaced by the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man(rus. "The Ultimate Spider-Man"), which is currently on screen. Among the features of the series is its pronounced comedic slant, in addition, it fits very well into a single cinematic universe, which, as you know, Marvel is currently building.

Since we are talking about big movies, it is certainly worth noting the trilogy directed by Sam Raimi, the first film of which was released in 2002, and the last in 2007. The role of Spiderman in these adaptations was played by Tobey Maguire. Also, such famous actors as Kirsten Dunst (Mary-Jane Watson), James Franco (Harry Osborne) and Willem Dafoe (Norman Osborne) appeared in the films. Sam Raimi has made a very solid, big-budget series of films, full of first-class special effects, adorned with interesting plots and stellar actors. The disadvantage can only be called some monotony in terms of plot moves - for example, in all three films closer to the finale, viewers see the abduction of Mary-Jane Watson by another villain who decided to lure Spider-Man into battle. Currently, Sony is creating a full-fledged Spiderman based comic book. Two films have already been released, two more are planned, plus spin-offs "Venom" And "Sinister Six". How successful this series of films will be, time will tell.

Finally, in a nutshell, we will mention game projects about Spider-Man. The most important games of recent times, in which the hero in a red and blue suit takes an active part, are associated with films, and either repeat or supplement their plots. Of the original projects, a dilogy can be noted Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions And Spider-Man: Edge of Time, "tied" to the parallel "spider" universes from Marvel. Another interesting game Spider-Man: Friend or Foe fits very well into a single Marvel universe, because, in addition to the main character itself, it includes many other characters from the common comic book universe. In fact, all the games about Spider-Man need to be listed for a very long time, because there are several dozen of them, and they have been leading their history since the 70s. In addition to games in the universe, there are many books, audio books, there is at least one musical - in general, quite a lot of interesting things. And we are sure that on the pages of our magazine we will return more than once to the fascinating world of Spider-Man, his friends and enemies.

John Jameson is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe who, fortunately or unfortunately, has the ability to transform into a wolf. He is one of NASA's youngest astronauts and is also considered an ally of Spider-Man. Although he fought with him more than once, being in the form of a beast. But his story begins a little earlier, because he was not always so shaggy.

Family ties

Probably, many remember the eternally dissatisfied Jay John Jameson, the editor of the popular New York newspaper "Daily Bugle", in which Peter Parker works. He started out as an ordinary reporter. After working in the press for several years, Jay finally headed his own publishing house. For its development, he made a lot of efforts, in principle, like his reporters, from whom he demanded full dedication and forced them to find information in any way. But it was only a working mask.

In fact, many people know him as a kind and sympathetic person, ready to provide support at any moment. Therefore, they forgive him for frequent outbursts of anger. His main target has always been Spider-Man. Jay did not consider him a hero, but he constantly demanded materials with his participation from his employees, because this brought huge profits to the publishing house. Moreover, the editor was ready to spend huge sums of money. But at one point he will have to reconsider his attitude towards the superhero. And his son, John Jameson - a character in the Marvel universe known as the Wolfman - was the reason for this.

Character history

Even before the transformation, Jameson explored outer space, working as an astronaut for NASA. He somehow didn’t succeed with this right away, and already on his first assignment, the guy almost died, being in a faulty capsule, which subsequently went out of orbit. It was lucky that Spider-Man was nearby, who managed to get the module working, thanks to which the capsule landed in the sea.

But for the father of John Jameson, this was not a feat. He decided that this was a well-planned stunt that only emphasized the helplessness of his son. Therefore, since then, his attitude towards the hero has shifted even more negatively.

Infection

On his next flight into space, John Jameson (Wolfman) finds himself in a dangerous situation again. When exposed to an unknown virus, he gains inhuman strength. Scientists from NASA decided to study the virus, and so that the guy did not have time to lose his powers, they developed a special organic suit for him. But not only they were interested in his new abilities. My father was also eager to use them.

One day, during a bank robbery in which Spider-Man was suspected, Jay persuades his son to confront the hero. He wanted to make a video to make him famous. The younger Jameson agrees to this, but loses the fight. And when it turns out that Spider-Man is not to blame at all, the father tries to stop his son. But easier said than done. He did not even suspect what John Jameson was then experiencing. Spider-Man greatly insulted him by winning, and he needed a rematch. But the next time, luck turned away from him. With a strong discharge of electricity, Spider-Man took away his strength.

transformation

Sometime after the incident, Jameson is sent to the moon on a secret mission. Studying the soil there, he finds a strange red stone. He had never met such unusual breeds, so he decided to take the find home. But soon the astronaut realizes that he is simply unable to do without a stone. Therefore, he makes an amulet out of it, and on it an engraving in the form of a wolf. Only by putting it on, on the very first full moon, it turns into a wolf. But he hardly liked it.

Most of his time is spent trying to find a way to control the transformation, John Jameson. Marvel is a fictional universe rich in transformations, where heroes face unusual situations. And for a while, John even begins to think that he has achieved success when a suit is born that, in his opinion, does not let in lunar radiation. But this is not so, and the transformations continue.

Soon his father finds out about this, because at first he did not believe that the Wolf Man was his son. But, seeing a pendant on his neck, he is completely convinced of this. Then, trying to help his son, he removes the amulet from him, thinking that this will stop the cycle, but this also does not have the desired effect. And even when Spider-Man threw a stone into the river, he only angered the beast, which already did not have warm feelings for him.

Abilities and powers

Firstly, John Jameson works at NASA, and there he is described as an experienced pilot and an excellent astronaut. He began his training while still serving in the army, when he underwent special training for employees in the Air Force.

Secondly, in the same place in the service, he successfully completed a course of physical training, so he has excellent skills in hand-to-hand combat.

Thirdly, John Jameson is a werewolf, which means he has the appropriate instincts, such as tracking down a target by smell or night vision. Also on the list can be added a high pain threshold and the ability to regenerate, healing even the most severe injuries.

Wolfman on TV and in movies

Until John Jameson got his own project, he has to be content with episodic roles in the animated series about Spider-Man. So the hero was shown in "Spider-man: Unlimited", where, during a flight into space, a guy, having crashed, finds himself on an unfamiliar planet. And together with Spider-Man, he leads a rebel squad to restore peace on this planet.

The Wolfman also had episodes in "Spider-man: Exciting". There he played an Air Force colonel and a shuttle pilot, but under the influence of poison he had to fight Spider-Man.

There is even a film in which John Jameson flashed several times - "Spider-Man 2" (the photo of the episode is above). The character was played by Daniel Gillis. He was the fiance of Mary Jane. True, she realized that she did not really love him, so their wedding never took place.

Spider-Man is one of the most famous and popular Marvel characters. And this company is known for the fact that all juices traditionally survive from popular characters, promoting them in all places. One way to do this is to create alternate versions of the characters. Clones, twin brothers, and most importantly, alter egos from parallel universes. So, one of the epic storylines in Marvel comics, Spider World (Spider-Verse), is entirely devoted to Spiders from all over the Multiverse. Ghoul Morlun started hunting Spiders, and Spider-Man (well, one of them) created Spider Army (Spider Army), consisting of different Spiders from different universes, to oppose him. Brace yourselves - there are many Spiders ahead.

As part of this plot, in more or less important roles, or even in the back streets somewhere in the background, a huge number of spiders appeared. Including part of the Spider Army are spiders from all film adaptations (because these are also separate universes). The '67 and '90 animated series, the Raimi trilogy, the Garfield movies, and even Spider-Man from the musical Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark are all in the Spider Army.

Spider-UK | Earth-833

Founded the Spider-UK team (Spider UK), William Braddock of 3earth-833. In this universe, he was not only Spider-Man, but also Captain Britain, while he is a member of the Captain Britain Corps. Braddock is somewhat stronger and more durable than many Spiders, but lacks Spider Sense. Having received an amulet that allows him to move between worlds, he went to help other Spiders in other universes. Unfortunately, the events of the Spiderverse came at a time when incursions began to occur throughout the Marvel Multiverse. While Spider-UK was heroic on other Earths, his home universe was destroyed as a result of one such incursion.

Not all Spider-Man were human. For example, the Arachnosaurus came to the Spider Army from Earth-99476, which was inhabited by sentient dinosaurs. There, he was a member of the Fantastic Five, which also included Zaur Fantastic, Dinotorch, Invisible Guanodon, and Beast. He first appeared in comics in 1992's Excalibur, where he and the Five were hypnotized by a High Evolutionary. During the war with Morlun and his family, the Arachnosaurus died.

Spider Woman (Ashley Barton) | Earth-807128

From Earth-807128, the impudent and unscrupulous Spider-Woman, Ashley Barton, daughter of Hawkeye and granddaughter of Peter Parker, Spider-Man, who died when all the crime on Earth-807128 became organized and captured the Earth, dividing it into areas of influence, came to the Spider-Army. . Ashley killed the Kingpin and reclaimed his territory, after which she sent assassins after her father and his ally, Old Man Logan. She joined the second Spider Army that Otto Octavius had assembled in the body of Peter Parker.

The Spider-Man of Earth-94 is Ben Reilly, a clone of Peter Parker who lost his spider powers and left to live a quiet family life with Mary Jane. He repelled an army of Vultures from various parallel universes, after which he escaped with the Black Widow from the Ultimate universe and Kane, a clone of the Spider from the 616 universe, to Earth-13, where the Spider Army's base was located, and then moved to Earth-802, to Jennix's laboratory, one of the Morlan family. The laboratory contained a device that allowed Morlun and his relatives to resurrect after death in cloned bodies. Ben sacrificed himself by blowing up the device, thus making the job of the Spider Army much easier.

Bruce Banner | Earth-105

The Spider-Man of Earth-105 is Bruce Banner, a scientist who has studied gamma radiation. He considered himself responsible for the fact that the young gouging Peter Parker was able to get to the test site where the Gamma Bomb was tested, as a result of which he turned into the Hulk. Bruce became Spider-Man when he was bitten by a gamma-radiated spider, which he studied in order to understand how to extract gamma radiation from the cells of a living being. This Spider-Man first appeared in the Bullet Points comic, which featured alternate versions of other characters. During the Spiderverse, he died in battle with Morlun's brother Deyemos. His back was broken, and then his energy was sucked out.

Peter Parker | Earth-80219

On Earth-80219, Peter Parker's life developed completely differently, due to the fact that he, while still a wrestler, stopped a fleeing robber (who was not stopped in the main universe, and he killed Uncle Ben). This contributed to the popularity of Spider-Man. He became popular as a wrestler and as a hero, and as Peter Parker he became a businessman. Spider-Man defeated a bunch of enemies, both personally, with fists and webs, and with the help of the great power of money. He became a personal agent of the Avengers, the X-Men, the Four and Daredevil, and it was then that J. John Jameson hunted him, whose life was ruined by Spidey. Spider-Man began to take his superhero job more seriously after he nearly killed Daredevil.

Lady Spider (Lady Spider), May Reilly of Earth-803, was accepted into the Spider Army despite not being a Spider Totem. Yes, she was bitten by a spider. However, she didn't have any superpowers. But, in her own words, the spider taught her an important lesson - do not let anyone drive you into a corner. After her father's death, May rustled around his garage and built herself a backpack with spider legs, as well as web shooters.

Ezekiel Sims | Earth-4

Ezekiel Sims of Earth-4 became one of the first members of the Spider-Army. He became Spider-Man (or, as he is sometimes called, Old Man Spider, Old Man Spider) after Morlun killed Peter Parker from his Earth. Along with Spider-UK, he began traveling between universes to warn the rest of the Spider Totems of the danger. He helped fish Deyemos, but he returned in a cloned body and broke Sims' neck. Having pushed a pathetic and touching speech, the Old Man Spider died.

Peter Parker | Earth-71004

Peter Parker of Earth-71004 was a descendant of a noble family of knights. However, his ancestors - Richard and Benjamin Parker - fell gloriously in battle. Peter himself became a servant in the Osborne estate. One day he heard that Princess Gwendolyn Stacey was announcing a ball where she would choose her groom from the toughest knights. He created his own armor, with a web pattern, and sneaked into the ball, where he appeared under the alias "Prince of Arachne". He danced with the princess until midnight, and then he ran away, losing his boots along the way. Harry Osborn found and stole the armor, wanting to be Gwendolyn's fiancé, but the princess rejected him. As a result, an enraged Norman Osborn tried to kill Peter, but Gwendoline sacrificed herself, saving him.

At a radioactive science fair on Earth-616, the core Marvel universe, Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider. Many people know what happened to Parker after that, but how many people know what happened to the spider? And he, by the way, managed to bite another person, after which he died. This person was Cindy Moon, a student. She also developed spider powers, after which she was found by Ezekiel Sims, the Old Man Spider from Earth-616, and hid her in a bunker where Morlun would not find her. Well, at the same time he taught her how to use her abilities. In addition to the standard strength-dexterity-endurance for all Spiders and the ability to climb walls, Cindy learned to weave a web and release it from her fingers. And her spider-sense is stronger than that of the others, and she always feels how Peter Parker is doing, because "one spider bites."

Over its long history, Spider-Man has taken on a wide variety of different costumes. Some of them were variations on the standard spider skin, while others were completely unique. Below is a list of some of the costumes that Spider-Man has worn at one time or another.

Spiderman classic.

Spider-Man first appeared in Marvel's Amazing Fantasy #15 in 1962. The character was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, who already then set the direction for the classic image of the hero. His suit was dyed red and blue, with a bizarre mesh under his arms to the waist, and a well-known symbol flaunted on his chest.

For many years, the original The Amazing Spider-Man series used this particular costume.

In the future, many interpretations of the classic version appeared, but they differed slightly. The shades changed a little, the size of the eyes changed, the grid disappeared every now and then, there was also an option with replacing the blue color with black. As a rule, such changes depended solely on the preferences of the artist.

However, this classic outfit was not the first cover-up for the hero's identity. In the same issue of Amazing Fantasy #15, in order to earn money, Peter took part in MMA where he had to last three minutes against the wrestler Hogan. In order not to be recognized, he used a mesh mask, the rest of the costume was a regular T-shirt and pants. This costume was used only once and was quickly replaced with a classic one.

One of the first drastic costume changes occurred in Secret Wars #8, where Spidey donned a black alien costume spawned by a symbiote. The black suit increased Spider-Man's strength and agility, as well as an unlimited supply of webs. A little later, the same suit appeared in the original Amazing Spider-Man #252, where Peter had to wear it until issue 258. After that, realizing that the costume is evil and affects the mind, the hero gets rid of it.

The black suit wasn't the only Spider-Man skin the symbiotes gave him. In Amazing Spider-Man #410, Carnage merged with the Spider, giving the hero a very disgusting appearance. At this time, it was not Peter who was hiding under the Spidey mask, but Ben Reilly, who was replacing him. This suit, like the black version, increased the physical strength of the owner, but also influenced his mind.

In Spectacular Spider-Man #99, another black suit appears, but this time of Earth origin. It was made by a black cat especially for Peter. The costume, in its properties, was no different from the original. Visually, he was similar to a symbiote suit and had a white modified spider symbol on his chest.

Sometimes, Spider-Man got into situations where he had to improvise with a costume. Particularly in Spectacular Spider-Man #214his suit was pretty shabby in the battle with the Plague. In order to somehow keep the suit intact, Peter had to patch it up with improvised means, as a result of which he began to look a bit like a ninja.

Another unfortunate incident occurred in Spectacular Spider-Man #206 when Peter lost his mask. In order to get home unnoticed, he borrowed a Black Cat mask.

The young genius showed great ingenuity in Spider-Man #89, when he lost his mask again and made himself a new one from his own web.

In Amazing Spider-Man #258, the Fantastic Four help Peter get rid of the black symbiotic suit. However, this threatens to reveal the identity of the hero, and simply leaves him without clothes. Joni Storm amiably shares his costume with Peter, but since the Fantastic Four have a problem with masks, they have to improvise. So the legendary hero ends up with a bag on his head.

Probably, it will be enough for any hero to be with a bag on his head once in his career, but not Spider-Man. In Spectacular Spider-Man #256, when there is a bounty on his head, he cannot walk around without a mask. Due to the lack of a suit at hand, he again puts on a bag he likes instead of a mask.

In Peter Parker: Spider-Man (Vol. 2)Peter turned out to be a bad artist. But when the building he was in is suddenly attacked by a Goblin clone, Spider-Man, as always, shows his ingenuity. Not having a suit at hand, he makes one out of canvas, breaking holes for the eyes and, for fixing it, tying it with a rope around his neck. Of course, the costume turned out not very successful, because it was used only once.

In Spider-Man #21, the hero gets hit hard in the fight against the Sinister Six. More precisely, he was harmed by Solo, who, under the influence of the illusion of Mysterio, attacked Parker and beat him unconscious. Luckily, the spider was saved by Cyborg X and Deathlok. After recovering, Peter discovers some changes in his appearance. Deathlok has equipped him with a cybernetic suit that covers Spider-Man's left eye and left arm. Thanks to this suit, the hero was able to return to duty again, despite the injuries received earlier, in addition, the new suit helped him heal faster.

Spiderman from different worlds and times.

Not without Spider-Man in the future. In the Spider-Man 2099 serieshis role is played by Miguel O "Hara, who first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man # 365. Miguel's costume is significantly different from Peter's. First of all, it is not sewn from fabric, but consists of special molecules that make it impenetrable. Almost the entire costume is blue with a red spider symbol on the chest that resembles a skull. Plus, he has a special mesh cloak that allows the hero to soar in the air.

In an even more distant future, in the Spider-Man 2211 series, Dr. Max Born took on the role of the spider. His suit is also virtually impenetrable, equipped with jet boots, 4 mechanical tentacles and a built-in time machine. Visually, the costume has again undergone dramatic changes.

In addition to the Spiders of the future, there is a version from the past. In Marvel 1602 and later 1602: New World, Peter Parker's counterpart is Peter Parkua, who is the Spider-Man of the time. His costume is stylized for the specified era, however, the mask retains a direct resemblance to the classic version, except that its eyes are not hidden.

In Amazing Spider-Man #499, after Doctor Strange's failed spell, Peter sees himself in the future. His costume resembles the original, however, instead of a tight leotard, he wears trousers and a jacket styled after Spider's classic look.

In Death "s Head 2 # 4 on Earth-9939, in 2020, Peter Parker, who is Spider-Man, also lives. He is part of the Avengers squad, headed by the Punisher. His costume in this version resembles the clothes of the Punisher mentioned above. The fundamental difference is only in the symbol of the spider on the chest and the mask, reminiscent of the classical one.

In an alternate comic book series called Spider-man: Noir, whose events unfold in 1933, Spider-Man is still the same Peter Parker, but his costume has been changed beyond recognition. Peter wears a black cape and hat, and his face is also hidden by a black mask. The costume is stylized under the clothes of its time. Dressed in black, Peter is able to easily hide in the night and attack criminals from dark corners.

In the issue of Peter Parker: Spider-Man #90, the hero finds himself in the so-called Negative Zone. Thanks to the help of a hero named S.H.O.C. Peter is not torn apart, but his costume is undergoing some changes. In particular, the color changes from the usual red-blue to black-gray. In the same series of comics, Spider-Man radically changes his appearance once again, receiving a costume called "Twilight". It's completely black, and Peter looks like a shadow in it, plus the suit gives him the ability to fly.

And Earth-96211 has its own Spider-Man, who first appeared in Marvel Vision #2. His name is also Peter Parker, and he has a similar story to the original as a hero. But his costume is quite different from the classic one. The main part of the costume is dark blue, an orange vest is worn over it, there are orange armbands with small horns on the elbows and knees.

Suits against certain enemies.

So, in The Spectacular Spider-Man #66, Spider-Man had problems with a villain named Electro. The enemy manipulated lightning, and in order to counter him, Peter had to create a suit that is resistant to electricity. To do this, he used a rubber air mattress. The new suit looked rather bulky and not neat, but it justified itself in the battle with the enemy. An improved version of this costume was used by Spidey in Amazing Spider-Man #424 against Electro.

In the Web Of Spider-Man #100 series, another completely updated version of Parker's outfit appeared - the Armored Spider. This suit was only used once to fight mutant plant spores. The suit had silver-colored metal padding, was heavier, but compensated for this with its strength.

And in Funeral For Octopus #2, in order to deal with the Sinister Six, Spider-Man had to borrow Doctor Octopus's tentacles. True, it was quite difficult to control them, because Peter hurried to get rid of them as soon as he stopped the villains.

In the 1998 episode "Identity Crisis", Spider-Man was framed and framed for murder. As a result, the hunt began for the poor spider. To resist the whole world that has taken up arms against him, he gets at his disposal 4 costumes that are radically different from the classic image.

In Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 1) #434Peter's wife Mary Watson creates a costume for the hero, nicknamed Ricochet. It was a white and blue skin-tight suit with a white mask and a leather jacket with the letter R on the back. Also, the R symbol was emblazoned on the chest.

In The Sensational Spider-Man #27a suit called Hornet appeared, the basis of which was also created by Mary Jane. The costume had a purple and black color and was equipped with wings that Hobie Brown had created at one time.

In Peter Parker: Spider-Man #91, Peter used the already mentioned "Dusk" suit obtained in the Negative Zone. And in The Spectacular Spider-Man #257, he appeared as a hero named Prodigy, wearing a gold-plated steel suit with a red cape.

Later, all these costumes went to other heroes.

WHAT IF?

Spider-Man has often been featured in the WHAT IF? comics. So, for example, he was a member of the new Fantastic Four, which was formed after the death of the old one.

In What If? Spiderman Vs. Wolverine, Spider-Man goes to Russia and stays there, becoming a mercenary. Along with the character, his costume also changes. Keeping the classic outline, it becomes darker, and the original white eyes are now black.

In an issue titled “What if Spider-Man stopped a burglar who killed his uncle?”, Peter becomes a celebrity, performs on shows and even provides agent services for the characters. His costume has a familiar look, except for the appearance of a red cloak covered in a classic web pattern.

Well, when in the series “WHAT IF?” Peter once again joins the Fantastic Four, turning it into a five, his classic suit is complemented by the number 5 emblazoned on his chest.

Another comic in this series gives us a really crazy idea. Peter in this issue is not bitten by a spider, but by a radioactive sheep.

New technologies.

In Amazing Spider-Man #529, Spider-Man's appearance is significantly changed thanks to the efforts of Tony Stark. The new costume has a completely new design. Crafted from metal and painted red and yellow, it looks more like Iron Man's armor. In addition, this Spider Armor adds several new features to Peter's arsenal. First of all, it is equipped with 3 additional robotic arms that allow manipulation at a distance. In addition, all kinds of sensors and sensors, protective filters and shields are built into the suit. Since the armor is made of "smart" metal, at Peter's command, it can change its appearance to suit any other suit, as well as turn into everyday clothes.

After a failed battle with the new Domovoi in Amazing Spider-Man #649, Peter had to develop a new costume based on the Omni-Harmonic Grid. The suit is black with glowing stripes and allows Spider-Man to hide from enemies and repel any sonic attacks.

When Spider-Man lost his spider-sense and took a bullet in Amazing Spider-Man #654, he was forced to pull out his old black armored suit with a yellow spider emblem on the chest. The suit can withstand the attack of various weapons and is able to block any radio frequencies.

In the Ends of the earth series, a new Spider-Man suit has appeared, equipped with the latest technology. It makes the hero practically invulnerable, gives the ability to fly, increases agility, strength, hearing and other parameters. He can counter Electro's attacks, see through Mysterio's illusions, and detect the Chameleon in disguise. In addition, the new suit came out quite stylish.

Other options.

In marvel adventures spider-man #40, he was able to lift Thor's hammer, gaining his power as well. Among other things, a massive belt, a red cloak and a helmet with wings appeared on top of the classic costume.

In Amazing Spider-Man #329, Peter becomes the owner of a powerful force. In this issue, Spider-Man reincarnates as Captain Universe. True, not for long. His costume is completely changed, leaving from the old version only a part of the strokes that covers the mouth.

Who would have thought, but Peter was even a knight in the issue of Spider-Man: Fairy Tales Vol 1 #4. Sir Peter Parker, known as the Spider Prince in the issue, was clad in steel armor with a red webbing pattern in places. The armor was complemented by a helmet, sword and spider shield.

Fantastic Four #579 has a new team called the Future Foundation. This is a charity group that is an alternative to the Fantastic Four. Soon, Spider-Man also joined her ranks, having at his disposal a stylish black and white suit.

On Earth-10182, there is a Spider whose identity and history remain a mystery. However, this does not prevent us from considering his costume. He first appeared in the Marvel Universe 2001 Millennial Visions #1 wearing a dark, dark skin-tight suit dyed red in places. On the chest, according to tradition, there was a symbol of a spider.

You can end the list with another very interesting version of Spider-Man from Earth-11638. Here, Peter is rich, successful, popular and incredibly strong. He wears a completely revamped red and blue suit and a red cape. It can also be noted that in this version he has a secret cave, which is an analogue of Batman's hideout. This Peter first appeared in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man Annual #38
