Mok'nathal. The history of a forgotten people and native lands

Mock'натал. История забытого народа и родные земли

Rexxar, Champion of the Horde(eng. Rexxar) - the beastmaster of the clan Mok "Natal, half orc and half ogre. Rexxar remained one of the few surviving members of his clan. After the Third War, he protected Orgrimmar from the attacks of the enemies of the Horde. He played crucial role in the formation of the Horde and the founding of Durotar after the fall of the Burning Legion. Due to his mixed heritage, he is a tall and muscular fighter and is adept at wielding two powerful axes. Not far from Reksar, you can always see the bear Misha, his faithful companion.

Rexxar deserves his title as Champion of the Horde. He trusts only animals and a few of his friends and despises war for the sake of war. He is an eternal outcast who could not find his home in Azeroth and wandered the world for thirty years. He later gave his heart to only a small piece of land in the Blade's Edge Mountains, which is in Outland. For a long time, Rexxar was considered the last of the Mok "Natal, because the clan was supposed to die along with Draenor. But after the new opening of the Dark Portal, Rexxar found his lost family.

Arrival in Azeroth

Half-Blood fought valiantly alongside the orcs, going with them all the way - from the first invasion of Azeroth to escape from the Alliance and defeat in the Second War. Unable to return home, Rexxar joined the Warsong clan under the command of Grommash Hellscream, when, on the orders of Ner "Zul, he again went to Azeroth to search for artifacts. Together with them, Rexxar was stuck on the other side of the portal. The orcs decided to continue the war against humans. but by that time Rexxar began to despise them. Inside of him there was a ripening resentment against Ner "Zul, because of which Draenor was destroyed, and all of Rexxar's relatives perished. He also remembered the death of his wolf Harathi, who fell from the spell of a warlock trying to heal himself. In the end, Rexxar declared that the dishonest orcs could not be trusted, and from now on he only trusted animals. With these words, he left the Horde and began a long wandering across Azeroth.

Founding of Durotar

The source of information in this section is the game Warcraft iii or an addition to it.

The conflict stemmed from the actions of High Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, who still saw the orcs as enemies, despite the fact that they fought alongside the humans against the demons at Mount Hyjal. Proudmoore's warriors attempted to assassinate Thrall himself, and later his fleet attacked the Darkspear trolls who had settled in the Echo Isles. It was learned that some of Theramore residents, led by Lady Jaina Proudmoore, were opposed to the conflict with the Horde and refused to support the admiral. Thrall turned to Rexxar to help the Horde gather as many forces as possible, because a large-scale battle with the admiral's fleet was inevitable.

Rexxar enlisted the help of the tauren when he was able to rescue young Bane, son of Cairne Bloodhoof, who was the chieftain of the tauren. The Half-Blood was also able to join the Stonemaul Ogre clan that lived in Dustwallow Marsh near Theramore. He challenged the chieftain of the clan named Kor "Gaul and was able to defeat him in a tough battle. As the new chieftain of the clan, Rexxar ordered all the Ogres to go to the gathering place of the Horde troops.

At the Battle of Theramore, Rexxar became the standard bearer of the Horde. He actively participated in the long battle and personally slayed Admiral Proudmoore. The Battle of Theramore ended and the Horde left the city. Thrall named Rexxar the Champion of the Horde and offered him permanent residence in Durotar. Rexxar refused, preferring to remain a hermit, but promised that he would respond to any request from the young leader of the Horde.

Homecoming

Source of information in this section - add-on The burning crusade to World of Warcraft.

For a long time, Rexxar continued his wanderings through the uncharted lands of Kalimdor, occasionally meeting the warriors of the Horde. Hearing that the Dark Portal had reopened and that some were able to survive on the shards of Draenor, the half-blood immediately went there. He believed that the Mok Natal clan survived the destruction of the world and still resides in the Blade's Edge Mountains.

The hopes were justified - the clan was able to survive, and even Leorox still ruled over them, whose anger towards his son did not subside even for three decades. Rexxar did not dare to remain with his fellow tribesmen and joined the Thunderlord Orc clan who also lived in the Blade's Edge Mountains. Rexxar tried to prove to his father that he was a true mok "natal, and fought the Bloodmaul ogres, the primordial enemies of his kind. With the help of Rexxar, the heroes of Azeroth were able to kill the sons of Gruul, the powerful gronn - Gogrom the Dragon Eater and Gok. But even after all these feats, Rexxar believed that his father did not forgive him, and remained in the Thunderlord fortress.

On the uprising of the Mok'Natal clan, Kil'jaeden and Gul'dan

The uprising of the Mok'Natal clan

Highmaul was never able to recover from his battles with the Warsong clan and the Kargath uprising. They permanently undermined the ogre's hold on Nagrand. This greatly bothered the Emperor Keglok, the leader of the Bladespire. The power of the ogres in Draenor was weakening. The Emperor was to regain control of Frostfire Ridge. But instead of simply fortifying the defenses of Bladespire's fortress, he decided to seize the nearby lands. And he had the perfect weapon for that.

Since the Gorian Empire fell, there have been fewer ogres. To remedy the situation, the chanterelle sorcerers undertook a series of brutal experiments, creating creatures that the ogres could use as a labor force. The most impressive results have been obtained by crossing ogres and orc slaves.

The children from these violent unions were called mok'natal. Strong as ogres and smart as orcs. Bladespire kept the mok'nathal in chains, and they gave birth to even more slaves for their masters. To keep them in check, the ogres killed the entire mok'nathal family, even if only one of them was guilty.

Emperor Kelgrok freed many of the mok'natals and ordered them to go to war against the orcs. They formed the backbone of the ogre army.

Bladespire forces marched along Frostfire Ridge and drove the orcs out of the rich lands. Warchief Garad has summoned two clans - the Thunderlords and the White Talons - to join the Frostwolves.

Due to the influence of Fenris, the Thunderlords denied Garad an alliance. They decided to deal with the Bladespire on their own. Troops of the Thunderlord attacked the ogre settlements on dark nights, killing young and old alike.

The White Talons accepted the Frostwolves' offer. They entered into an alliance with the Frostwolves, with whom they were united by many customs and traditions.

Garad was proclaimed the leader of the army of the Frostwolves and White Talons. He appointed the sons of Ga'nar and Durotan as his lieutenants. With such considerable forces, he struck at the Bladespire. They were unable to win any significant battles, but managed to capture several Mok'nathals, including their leader Leorox.

When Garad met Leorox, he was amazed at what he learned from the enemy. The leader has always believed that the mok'natals serve the ogres voluntarily. From Leorox, he learned how the ogres treated the mok'natal and that the threat of punishment constantly hung over all family members. After a long discussion, Garad and the prisoner came to an agreement. They will help each other destroy Bladespire forever.

Leorox returned to Bladespire Hold and raised an open rebellion against the ogres. Mok'natal set fire to the fortress and the pillars of smoke sent a signal to Garad's army to attack.

The bloody battle lasted all day and the combined forces of the orcs and the mok'nathal drove the ogres out of the fortress. At the heart of the blazing citadel, Leorox strangled Emperor Kelgrok with the chains in which he held most own life.

The orcs won, but they paid a heavy price. Hundreds of Frostwolves and White Talons died in this battle, including Ga'nar. He sacrificed his life to enable many young mok'natals to escape from the besieged fortress. Ga'nar's death broke his father's heart. Although Durotan remained the heir, Garad never recovered from the loss of his second son.

After the battle, Garad offered Leorox and his people lands as their second home. The mok'nathal elders declined the offer, knowing that the orcs would never truly accept a half-breed.

Leorox gathered the mok'nathal and settled in the distant lands of Gorgrond. These lands were not rich, but the main thing is that the mok'natals could live in peace. They disbanded the army and vowed to take up arms only to defend their lands.

Legion Herald

10 years before the Dark Portal

Kil'jaeden learned a lot about the orcs from Talgath, who was watching them. They were hardy, proud and powerful, as well as superstitious creatures who communicated with the spirits of their ancestors and honored the forces of nature. Kil'jaeden believed these orcish traditions would enable him to manipulate them. If he managed to subdue them to his will, then he could use them to take revenge on the draenei before making them part of the Legion's forces.

Talgat flew into a rage upon learning of Kil'jaeden's plans. The apostates finally fell into his hands. He had not spent millennia looking for the draenei for some primitive creature to shed their blood. Talgat demanded that his overlords change their minds.

Usually Kil'jaeden would kill for such disobedience, but he understood the reasons for Talgat's anger. Yet the demon lord could not allow such disobedience to go unpunished. He ordered Talgath to leave Draenor. Talgath will not take part in the destruction of the draenei.

When Talgath left Draenor, Kil'jaeden focused on corrupting the orcs. He needed a conductor of his will and carefully chose who would take his side.

Kil'jaeden saw many worthy candidates, but none of them was as good as Gul'dan. He came from a small clan on the outskirts of Gorgrond and was physically weak. The superstitious orcs saw a bad omen in Gul'dan's ugly body and eventually banished him.

Only the elder shaman took pity on Gul'dan. He instructed him to find the Throne of the Elements in Nagrand, where Gul'dan could learn the purpose of his existence from the elements.

At first, Gul'dan rejected the shaman's offer. Years of bullying made him bitter and vengeful. But after he had to fight for life in the wild, he went in search of the Throne of the Elements. Gul'dan reached the sacred place, turning into a shadow of himself - an unfortunate orc, emaciated from hunger and on the verge of death. He fell to his knees and cried out to the spirits, promising to serve them if this would mean the end of his suffering.

The spirits answered him, but not in the way he hoped. They felt the darkness and anger in his heart and rejected him as well as his clan.

Grief overwhelmed Gul'dan. Everything in this world rejected him. He had nothing. He was nothing.

Kil'jaeden heard his desperate prayer and entered his mind. He promised Gul'dan a power that no orc had ever possessed. He would become godlike and could punish anyone who was unfair to him. In exchange for this power, Gul'dan pledged to help the Burning Legion transform the orcs into weapons that would destroy the draenei.

Gul'dan agreed to conclude this dark pact. He did not love his people, he only despised. His traditions and customs became the cause of his suffering. If godliness required manipulation by the orc people, they would not hesitate to do so.

Kil'jaeden has trained his new servant in fel magic. The Demon Lord knew that these powers would change the physical appearance of the orc or even attract the attention of the draenei, so he took steps to hide Gul'dan's new abilities. Kil'jaeden taught the orc to hide his abilities and use fel magic only if absolutely necessary. Gul'dan learned much faster than Kil'jaeden had expected. He rejoiced at the destructive power at his fingertips.

This is how the first orc warlock was born.

Desecration of Draenor

Kil'jaeden now had a confidant among the orcs, but the conditions were not ripe to set them on the draenei. He needed all the orc people to fall into despair, blinded by black feelings, so that they could act as a single force.

From what Gul'dan told him about Draenor's past, Kil'jaeden knew that there had once been a time of Orc unity. Long ago, the ogres wanted to take over the Throne of the Elements. Their intervention led to a riot of elements and the ensuing difficult times for the world. In fear of famine, the orcs banded together and opposed the ogres together. If Kil'jaeden could once again wreak havoc among the spirits of nature, it would lead to a new unification of clans.

Kil'jaeden taught Gul'dan how to infuse the Throne of Elements with fel magic. As intended, the corruption awakened the nature spirits of Draenor. The most powerful elementals - Gordaug, Aborius, Kalandrios, and the Incinerator - materialized to stop Gul'dan. But they never met a warlock. The orc has summoned his strange magic to drain the forces of the Furious, increasing his power. He almost destroyed them, but they managed to escape from his wrath.

For the first time in his life, Gul'dan was able to defeat someone. And the taste of this victory became poison.

Gul'dan's fel magic has wreaked havoc among the nature spirits. After heavy rains, landslides took place. Floods flooded Gorgrond and parts of Nagrand. Unusual snowfalls have covered parts of the Tanaan Jungle and chained the Terokkar Forests into ice. Rivers and streams dried up, leading to an outbreak of hoofed animals and talbuk.

Disease, lack of water, crop failures led to severe suffering for the orcs. The shamans had nothing to offer to remedy the situation. The filth tormented the spirits of nature, now they rarely spoke with the orcs. Gul'dan used his magic to spread a "red mist" among the orcs. It was the most terrible epidemic in the history of the orcs. Over the course of months, hundreds have died from the disease.

Many contracted the disease during the Kosh'harg in Nagrand. Ner'zhul has brought the clans together to discuss the hardships created by the rampage of the elements. After the festival ended and the orcs began to return home, some of them showed signs of illness. Among those afflicted with the disease was Chieftain Garad of the Frostwolf clan.

Ner'zhul feared that these orcs would infect others. He persuaded Garad and the other plague-stricken to remain in Nagrand. They built a new village to separate the sick from the rest of the orcs.

Garad was saddened that he could not return home, but Ner'zul's decision was wise. The last thing Garad wanted for his fellow tribesmen was to infect them with the plague. Garad remained in Nagrand and led those infected by the Red Mist.

Durotan wanted to stay with his father, but Garad gave him another order. Young Frostwolf was his only remaining loyal descendant of the clan. Garad persuaded Durotan to return home and temporarily lead the clan.

This was the last time Durotan saw his father alive. A few weeks later, the "red fog" killed him. Although he led the plague victims for a short time, Garad earned eternal respect. The settlement of plague patients was named in his honor - Garadar.

Shadow of Ner'zhul

8 years before the Dark Portal

The clans were gripped by cruelty and despair. Kil'jaeden felt the time was almost ripe, but a powerful orc was needed to unify the clans. Gul'dan, for all his talents, was unlikely to inspire the orcs or lead by example. The demon lord ordered his servant to find someone who can do it. But first, Gul'dan had to destroy all those who knew his past.

The warlock, whose face was hidden by the cowl, returned to his old clan. He unleashed fel fire on the settlement and reduced every orc to ashes. When the hellfire receded, there was nothing left. There was no one left who knew Gul'dan's true past.

Having destroyed his past, he decided to join the Shadowmoon clan. His wise shaman was respected by the orcs. One of them was perfect for the Legion's pawn.

Gul'dan was careful to hide his possession of fel magic, never revealing that he was a warlock. He told the Shadowmoon Orcs that the ogres had destroyed his village and killed everyone but him. Although it was not in the clan's rules to accept outsiders into their ranks, the Shadowmoon orcs took pity on him. The novice carefully watched the elder shamans in order to understand which of them was the easiest to win over to his side. After much deliberation, he chose the charismatic and restless leader Ner'zhul.

Ner'zhul was a loyal leader of the clan, stubborn and straightforward. He followed relentlessly the decision, went to the goal, no matter what.

These qualities should have served Gul'dan and the Legion well. But even more important was Ner'zhul's inner turmoil and sadness. Several years ago, his beloved wife, Rulkan, died. Over time, the pain of loss faded, but the chaos that the elementals of Draenor fell into opened Ner'zhul's old wounds. He always found solace in conversations with the spirits of nature, but now they were silent. Ner'zhul again began to remember Rulkan and again began to experience the loss, as if it happened yesterday.

Gul'dan decided to use the dark feelings that filled Ner'zul. He told the old shaman about his sorrows, about the family and friends he had “lost” in that village. Over time, they became friends, trusting each other. He was even able to convince the shaman to take him as an apprentice.

Through Gul'dan, Kil'jaeden got an influential figure at his disposal, who could become a conduit of his will. Kil'jaeden began to distort Ner'zul's thoughts, and Gul'dan was given a new task. The orcs were in despair and confusion and now they should have seen enemies in the draenei.

Gul'dan could have done it.

Greetings to all readers of the wonderful MMOBOOM portal! Today I want to talk about the people who are now forgotten by the players. These are the Mok natal people.

History and Customs.

Majestic half-ogres, valiant sons of Nat. From the orcs, these strong and cunning creatures received the name Mok "natal. The history of this race began with the fact that the Orcs wanted to create creatures that possess the enormous power of the Ogre, and the wisdom of the Orc. After a while, the Orcs realized that the new race was too independent and freedom-loving. And no one could change it. It was decided that the project should be completed. And since then the number of Mok "Natal began to decline ... The main reason for the extinction of the race was ... not the desire of the Orcs to have any ties with the ogres. In modern times, a small number of offspring appear through the marriages of Orcs and Half-ogres. But in addition to their name, they also inherited the concept of honor. Friendship in their society is not an empty phrase. If one of the half-ogres took an oath, he will definitely fulfill it, even if it costs his life. Protecting what is valuable to them, they are ready to do anything. Despite all these heroic qualities, Mok "natals are calm and silent. Even among friends, they rarely start a conversation and are more silent. Some, by the way, are prone to claustrophobia. Mok" natal's names are more like Ogres than Orcs. They take surnames in honor of their ancestors, personal achievements (just like the Dwarves!), Something related to flora... The surname for the half-ogre is very important, and they are even ready to challenge her honor in a duel. Spiritually speaking, the Mok natal people are closest to the Night Elves and Tauren. The connection with nature, plants and animals is very important to this race, and the hunters and druids of them are simply magnificent!

Blade's Edge Mountains. Homeland of the Gronns, Ogres and Moks "natal.

Sharp mountains like a robber's knife, hot sun, danger at every step. Guess what it is? That's right, it's Blade's Edge Mountains!

This dangerous place has always been controlled by the owners of the Ogres, the Gronn. Many brave heroes came here to slay giant monsters, but all attempts ended in sadness. Many people think that Ogres are rude, vile and simply uncultured monsters. Ha! They just didn't have anything to do with the Gronns.
These insidious creatures are ruled by Gruul the Dragon Slayer and his five sons. All of them are the ancestors of this race. Many Gronn dwell in a certain capital of these places, Gruul's Lair. With the invasion of the Alliance Armies into the Blade Mountains, the Laughing Skull and their leader Mogor decided to join the army to end the terrible rule of the Gronns in the Blade's Edge Mountains.

In these places, the remnants of the black dragons, who fled to these lands along with their leader, are also raging. The Aspect of Death himself "rested" here for a very short time, but left the inhabitants of these places with a headache in the form of the Black Dragons and the Dragons of the Nether. The dragon's allies are the Serpent Cult. Although, rather, they are simply subordinate to the Old Gods, as is the case with the Twilight's Hammer. The leader of the Black Dragons in the Blade's Edge Mountains is Sabellian or Baron Blackmane. Brother Nefarian and Onyxia are trying to get revenge on the Gronns for the fatal defeat of the Black Dragon forces during their invasion of Outland. Heroes of the Alliance can go through a quest chain associated with this cursed family.

The Arakkoa (they can also be found in the Forest of Terrokar) who live in the Blade's Edge Mountains have always had a peaceful attitude towards other races. Recently, their patience has worn out ... The influence of the mysterious religion has borne fruit, and now the Arakkoa are ready to destroy the aliens who travel in their lands. Arakkoa Ruan Weald is chosen from among their flock of Harbingers of the Raven, heralds of their god. They believe that the Harbingers look at them from the heavens, receiving instructions from the Raven, and then descend, transmitting his messages.
These harbingers hold the souls of the arakkoa in a powerful grip. They use magical pendants that we need ...
The quest to create a pendant tells us

In addition to the enemies of the whole world, there are quite friendly peoples in the Blade's Edge Mountains, for example the Ogri "la. Ogri" la tribe is located near the western ridge of the Blade's Edge Mountains, between Legion's Camp: Wrath and Legion's Camp: Horror, just west of Silvanaar, the Night Elf settlement. The influence of the apexis crystals has allowed its inhabitants to surpass the development of ordinary ogres. Ogres of this tribe are intelligent, friendly, and most importantly, not subordinate to the Gronns. The leader of this tribe is Mog "dorg the Wise. The main goals of the Ogri" Ly are the overthrow of the tyranny of the Gronns, and the expulsion of demons from their lands. The quests for this faction are quite interesting, and I highly recommend completing them.

The Alliance and Horde also settled here, of course, but we have main topic? So I go directly to her ...

The Mok Natal settlement and the history of the most famous half-ogre.

The city of the Mok "Natal" tribe lives in the Blade's Edge Mountains, and is trying to cleanse it of the Ogres, Gronns, Legion and Black Dragons. The leader of the settlement is the father of the legendary Rexxar Leorox, who still despises his son ...

Rexxar lived in a small settlement of his clan, which led warriors with local ogres. The son of the Warchief did not want to fight and suffer losses for a small village, and when he learned that the Horde was soon beginning to invade the world of the people of Azeroth, Rexxar began to convince his father that this was their chance for salvation. Rexxar's main argument was that a rich land was hidden behind the Dark Portal, and it was there that their future Clan Leader scornfully discarded all the speculations of his son. He considered him a coward and a traitor. Soon, Rexxar leaves the clan and joins the Orc campaign.
A brave warrior from the people of MokNathal went with the orcs all the way, from the very beginning, to the defeat in the war. He could not return to the house, and so he joined the ranks of the Warsong. Together with them he got stuck on the other side of the Portal. Rexxar was disenchanted with his new allies. They were no better than his fellow tribesmen, who fought a senseless war with the Ogres. Half-ogr was offended at the Orcs, and at the shaman Ner-Zul, for destroying Draenor. His family and friends were dead. Also, at the hands of a warlock, Rexxar's fighting partner, the wolf Harat, was killed. Warrior MokNathal withdrew from the horde, declaring that he could not trust the orcs. Animals were his only companions. After that, Rexxar began traveling across Azeroth, and ended up on the mainland of Kalimdor. One day, he heard the sounds of a battle, and rushed to them. The fight was between an Orc and several quilboarms. The orc's name was Mogrin, and Rexxar wanted to help him. But it was too late. Mogrin was dying, and his last wish was to deliver an important letter to the new chieftain of the horde, Thrall. The newly minted leader of the Horde, wanted to give MokNathal a home in the city of Orgrimmar, but he refused. For his hospitality, Rexxar volunteered to help the Horde. To help, Thrall assigned his faithful Darkspear scout to MokNathal. They were later joined by Pandaren the Traveler Raivo. But unexpectedly for everyone, a new conflict broke out between the Horde and the Alliance. General Proudmoore, determined to destroy the remnants of the Orcs on Kalimdor, and his men began to land and build military bases. New war was inevitable. The trinity of heroes, led by Rexxar, enlisted the support of the Tauren and the Darkspear Trolls. A little later, the half-ogre joined an ogre clan called the Stone Hammer. After being accepted into the clan, he challenged the chieftain named Cor "Gaul. Having defeated him, the Ogre clan began to help the Horde. In the final battle that took place in Theramore, Rexxar, being the standard bearer of the horde, defeated Admiral Proudmoore. Nothing more threatened the Horde. Thrall called Rexxar was a hero, and offered to stay in Durotar, but the half-ogr refused, becoming a hermit, but he promised the Orc chieftain he would respond to his every call.

Back to Blade's Edge Mountains.

After great victory, Rexxar still roamed the mainland, helping the Orcs. But upon learning that the Dark Portal was reopened, he immediately rushed to it. The world did survive, his clan was alive too, and his father still ruled over the MokNatals. But the father's malice is for long years did not subside. The son of the Chief did not immediately dare to return to his clan, but joined the Thunderlord clan. Together with them, he destroyed the ogres of the Blood Hammer clan, with his support, the heroes slain Gruul and his Sons. But even having provided the old enemies of his people with a headache, and having proved that he was worthy to bear the title of Son of Leorox in the city, he did not return to the tribe, knowing that the Father had not forgiven him ...

P.S. Actually, this is my second experience of writing an article (the first was not very successful). In general, the topic of my today's article was a little different. It was quite extensive material that contained a lot of pictures, text, videos and a lot of all sorts of goodies. But a couple of incorrect mouse clicks, threw it all into the abyss. Naturally, I was upset, because I worked on that article for about four days, but I decided that I would write something different and shorter. This is how this topic appeared. I certainly really hope that you enjoyed it. Perhaps I will take up the previous topic again, but it will obviously not be soon. Well, if you liked it, then click on your thumb. I would be very grateful.

Many thanks to everyone for reading my works! Have a great weekend!
