A1 - I am learning French
I understand and can use simple colloquial expressions related to everyday life, I can build simple sentences related to specific needs.
Pass an A1 level test /
A2 - I understand simple ideas
I can understand individual sentences and expressions related to the daily environment: family, work, study. I can speak in simple themes.
Pass an A2 level test /
B1 - I can communicate in a French-speaking environment
I can understand the main ideas in a text or audio message if it uses standard and articulate language. I can explain myself in most travel situations. I can tell about some event or a story about myself.
Pass the B1 level test /
B2 - I can communicate without difficulty
I understand most complex messages on specific or abstract topics. I can easily communicate with a person for whom this language is native, I can speak clearly and in detail on a large number of different topics.
Pass a B2 level test /
The test was developed in accordance with the principles of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (official website).
How is the test set up?
During the test, you will answer several comprehension questions. oral speech, text comprehension and knowledge of grammar. There are 15 questions in the tests for each level.
In some of them you will have to choose the correct answer, in others you will have to write the answer yourself. In the oral comprehension tasks, you can listen to the audio recording as many times as needed. You will need to answer a question in order to move on to the next one.
