As it turned out, one of these scattered tanks suddenly appeared to the north in the rear of the "Routh" tank group.
The tank stopped right on the road connecting the bridgehead of this group on the banks of the Dubisa River with the city of Raseiniai. Most likely, he ran out of fuel, tk. KV tanks had a small power reserve. This is evidenced by some of the documents found, and eyewitness accounts.

The frozen tank was first discovered by a convoy of vehicles with Soviet prisoners of war and wounded German soldiers. Cars with fuel and ammunition were moving from the city in the direction of E. Raus's group, which also stumbled upon a heavy combat vehicle. 12 of them were destroyed.

Realizing that they were opposed by one single tank, the Germans at all costs tried to destroy it in order to restore their communications. But an attempt to knock him out with an anti-tank battery of 4 50-mm cannons, camouflaged and sneaking closer, did not give any result - they did not penetrate him. All 4 guns were destroyed when they opened their positions while firing. The close approaching 88-mm anti-aircraft gun suffered the same fate.

At night, German sappers tried to blow up the tank, but could only damage the track. But in return they received a good portion of lead from a tank machine gun.
