The collection of poems by Agnia Barto "Vovka is a kind soul" is still read with pleasure by both adults and children. The fact is that the cycle raises the eternal themes of kindness, responsiveness and friendship.
Tells about a boy who from the windows wished adults and children rushing to work and children good morning... Just a polite phrase uttered with a smile can do a lot, even in the early morning to cheer up sleepy people. It is with a courtesy lesson that we begin our acquaintance with the main character - the "white-headed boy" Vovka.
Vovka helps the grandmothers to calm down the capricious grandchildren. The grandmothers could not cope with the kids, and the hero amused them by dancing and singing a song. Here the hero teaches us a lesson in respect and help to elders. Elderly women could no longer dance, Vova understood this and helped them.
In the next poem, the boy takes pity on little Katya. Children bragged about older brothers who protect them and do not give offense. And the girl is alone in the family and even a cat offends her with impunity. The boy promises that from Monday he will become her older brother and will intercede for her. The child understands what it means to be fair, to protect those who are younger and weaker.

The kid noticed that the turtle has lost weight in the living corner. The girls laughed at him because they did not notice the changes in the dumb animal. But Vovka decided to follow how the turtle eats and realized that the cat was drinking its milk. Another feature kind person- this is sensitivity and attentiveness to wildlife. The boy worries about the animals, really wants to take care of them, and does not treat them like an ordinary toy. Kindness to animals is an obligatory character trait of a good person.

In the summer, when all the inhabitants of the native white-haired boy of the city - Zagorsk, were very thirsty and were exhausted from the heat, he first ran and carried water to everyone, and then made fans so that the elderly and young people fanned themselves with them and could more easily endure the heat. He also helped the chick, which, after a thunderstorm, remained in a rickety birdhouse and could fall out. Vovka asked the adults for help, was worried, and he ached with his soul for the chick, which once again characterizes him as a sensitive person.
In the last poem, Barto tells how, at the age of 12, the boy began to be ashamed of his kindness and wanted to become evil - offending cats and sparrows. But he could not overcome his good nature and eventually buried the slingshot, and asked the cats for forgiveness.
