The government of the Vologda region together with the All-Russian public organization "Union of Writers of Russia" announce the holding All-Russian competition modern prose named after V. I. Belov "Everything is ahead."

Competition aimed at perpetuating the memory and popularization creative heritage outstanding writer of our time, identifying and supporting contemporary talented authors, in 2017 is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of Vasily Belov and is intended to become one of the large-scale projects of the regional plan of anniversary events.

Previously unpublished works (prose) by contemporary authors may be submitted to the competition.

A prerequisite for participation in the competition is the popularization of the ideas of the classic by means of artistic speech domestic literature V. I. Belova is a reflection of the themes of kindness, love for the motherland and the Russian village, the preservation of family traditions and the traditions of folk life. The volume of literary material - no more than 5 author's sheets.

Reception of works for the competition ends on June 6 at 12.00 Moscow time. The winner will be announced on October 23, the birthday of Vasily Belov.

about the All-Russian competition of modern prose

(hereinafter - Regulation)

I. General provisions

1.1. All-Russian competition of modern prose named after V.I. Belova "Everything is ahead" (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) is a creative event aimed at perpetuating the memory of the outstanding contemporary writer V.I. Belov and the support of modern writers.
1.2. The competition is held as part of the work to perpetuate the memory and popularize the creative heritage of V.I. Belov, and provides for identifying the best creative works(prose) by contemporary authors.
1.3. The purpose of the competition is to select the best prose works(hereinafter - Works), reflecting a deep understanding of the foundations of folk life.
1.4. The competition is designed to contribute to the solution of the following tasks:
identification and support of talented prose writers;
popularization by means of the artistic word of the ideas of the classic of Russian literature V.I. Belova: affirmation of eternal values ​​- goodness and beauty in Everyday life, love for native land respect for family traditions.
1.5. The founders of the Competition are the Government of the Vologda Oblast and the All-Russian public organization "Union of Writers of Russia".
1.6. The organizers of the Competition are the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Region, the Vologda Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization "Union of Writers of Russia".
1.7. The solution of organizational issues for the preparation and holding of the Competition belongs to the functions of the Commission for the Perpetuation of the Memory and Popularization of the Creative Heritage of V.I. Belova, the composition of which was approved by the Decree of the Governor of the region dated June 6, 2013 No. 250 “On the establishment of a Commission to perpetuate the memory and popularize the creative heritage of V.I. Belova.
1.8. Evaluation of the Works submitted for participation in the Competition is carried out by the Competition Commission. The composition of the Tender Committee is approved by Appendix 1 to these Regulations. Members of the Competition Committee cannot be participants in the Competition.

II. Terms of the Competition

2.1. The competition is held from February 1 to October 23, 2017 in three stages:
February 1 - June 6, 2017 - acceptance of competitive Entries;
June 7 - September 1, 2017 - work of the Competition Commission;
September 2 - October 20, 2017 - publication of a collection of the best Works.
Summing up the results of the Competition - October 23, 2017 on the birthday of V.I. Belova.
2.2. Acceptance of Works submitted for participation in the Contest ends on June 6, 2017 at 12:00 Moscow time.

III. Terms of participation in the Competition

3.1. To participate in the Competition, works are accepted that have not been previously published, performed by:
professional writers;
budding authors.
3.2. In order to ensure a unified conceptual solution, a prerequisite for participation in the Competition is the reflection in the Works of the themes of kindness, love for the Motherland and the Russian countryside, the preservation of family traditions and traditions of folk life.
3.3. Works must meet the following requirements:
compliance with the theme of the competition;
author's possession artistic means Russian language;
the volume of literary material - no more than 5 author's sheets; format - A4, font - Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing - single, alignment - in width.
3.4. Applications for participation in the Competition are sent in the prescribed form in accordance with Appendix 2 to these Regulations. Works are submitted within the time limits specified by these Regulations to the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Region in electronic form at the email address: [email protected], and on paper at the address: 160000, Vologda, Sovetsky pr., 6. Provision of Works on paper and in electronic form is a prerequisite for participation in the Contest.
3.5. Works that do not meet the requirements are not accepted for participation in the Contest.
3.6. The works submitted for the Contest are not reviewed and are not returned. The competition committee does not enter into correspondence with the authors.
3.8. Information about the Competition and the application form for participation are posted on the official website of the Government of the Vologda Oblast (www.vologda-oblast.ru), the official website of the All-Russian public organization "Union of Writers of Russia" (sp.voskres.ru), the official website of the Department of Culture and Tourism Vologda Oblast (www.depcult35.ru) and the Internet portal "Culture in the Vologda Oblast" (www.cultinfo.ru).
3.9. Summing up the results of the Contest is carried out within the time limits specified by these Regulations.
3.10. The winners of the Competition are awarded a laureate diploma and a cash prize.
3.11. The Prize Fund of the Competition is 350.0 thousand rubles.
3.12. This Regulation determines the following amounts of cash bonuses:
first place - 200 thousand rubles;
second place - 100 thousand rubles;
third place - 50 thousand rubles.
3.13. The Competition Commission has the right not to award a prize (prizes), to divide the prizes among several participants, in case of not awarding one of the prizes, to redistribute the prize fund.
3.14. Based on the results of the Competition, a collection of the best Works is published. Works that did not receive prizes (first, second, third place) may be recommended for inclusion in the collection by the Competition Committee. Decisions of the Competition Commission are final and not subject to discussion, revision or appeal.
3.12. The results of the Competition are posted on the official website of the Government of the Vologda Oblast (www.vologda-oblast.ru), the official website of the All-Russian public organization "Union of Writers of Russia" (sp.voskres.ru), the official website of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Oblast (www.depcult35. ru), Internet portal "Culture in the Vologda region" (www.cultinfo.ru).

The Organizing Committee of the 2017 annual Enlightener Prize has published a long list - a list of 25 popular science books, from which finalists and winners will be selected later. This year, the Enlightener Prize, founded by Russian businessman Dmitry Zimin, will be presented for the tenth time. This is stated in the press release of the award, received by the editors. N+1.

Books for the long list were selected by the organizing committee of the award, chaired by the writer, publicist and TV presenter Alexander Arkhangelsky, as well as literary critic and TV presenter, head of the Book Institute Alexander Gavrilov. Over the summer, the jury members will select the most interesting of them, which will be included in the short list of the Enlightener. It will be announced on October 4th.

According to the rules of the award, the winners will be announced in two categories - natural science and humanitarian. The winners will receive a cash prize of 700 thousand rubles for each. The rest of the shortlisted participants will be awarded the amount of 100 thousand rubles each. In addition, publishing houses that have published books from the short list will receive cash certificates in the amount of 130,000 rubles for each book, which will be used to promote it on the market. Finally, all shortlisted books will be sent to more than 100 libraries in Russia.

The jury, chaired by the chief researcher of FIAN, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Alexei Semikhatov, included prominent Russian scientists and public figures: Evgeny Bunimovich, Sergey Mironenko, Vladimir Plungyan and Ekaterina Pomerantseva. Also on the jury are two winners - Sergey Kavtaradze and Alexander Panchin - and the founder of the award Dmitry Zimin with an advisory vote.

Summing up the results of the competition and awarding prizes will take place on November 16, 2017 in Moscow. The longlist for the award is as follows:
