Urgpu history of creation. Ural State Pedagogical University

Urgpu history of creation. Ural State Pedagogical University

I graduated from the Ural State Pedagogical University(USPU), the path to which was not very easy. I spent many years on other training, which was not for me, but for my parents. Yes, and this university has become, most likely, a transitional stage for the further achievement of its goal.

The collapse of the first hope

I dreamed of being a doctor since childhood. I was often sick and saw these specialists both in the hospital and at home. I gave dolls injections, all my and neighbor's teddy bears were always green, and the arsenal of toys consisted of medical supplies: spatulas, syringes, thermometers. But when the time came to decide on a profession, my parents said a categorical “no”, not even allowing me to finish high school and indicating the direction of study - a polytechnic technical school. Going down for a day open doors to this institution, I also answered with a categorical “no”. Then they chose a different tactic: seduction and persuasion, and I did not notice how I ended up in the radio engineering college of Sverdlovsk, now Yekaterinburg, (Sverdlovsk Radio Engineering College named after A.S. Popov, now Ural Radio Engineering College named after A.S. Popov), where I mastered the profession “gyroscopic instruments and devices”, which was incomprehensible to me.

Attempts to resist learning

My resistance in the form of twos and absenteeism was quickly eliminated by the efforts of parents and teachers, because. I was originally a diligent student and before that I studied for almost one five. The only thing that kept me in this institution was my boyfriend, who, sacrificing his desire to study at an automotive technical school, joined me in this incomprehensible specialty. He infected me with his interest in technology, in electronics. I also liked the guys in the group, but I was still often sick (now it was to my advantage, I could not attend school), and I could not go to the collective farm “for potatoes” with them or go hiking. Without waiting for the end of my studies, which lasted 4 long years, I got married. It was the first wedding in our group, so they celebrated it like a youth, on a grand scale, with jokes, congratulations. Education began to be perceived as something secondary. My husband and his friend helped me write my diploma, and I only, when defending my graduation project, pressed the buttons, demonstrating the quality of the gyrocompass.

Realization of the need for liberal education

For the next five years, my husband and I lived in Penza, where he served, and I tried to realize myself as a wife, mother, educator in kindergarten. My work in my former specialty became impossible, and I increasingly returned to thoughts of getting a liberal arts education. Working in kindergartens, both in Penza and Sverdlovsk, I realized that without education, it’s better not to work there at all. I did not know how to conduct classes with children, how to learn to understand children. I expressed many ideas for organizing work with preschool children, as a result of which the head of the kindergarten began to get angry with me: “Sit in my place and manage!”. I thought, why not.

Admission to the Pedagogical Institute (now USPU)

In 1989, it really was only an institute where teachers, educators, teachers were trained. I decided to enter the department of PIMNO (Pedagogy and Methods primary education). But I was horrified to learn that the entrance exams included biology as a compulsory discipline, which was not taught at the technical school and my knowledge stopped at the level of botany and human anatomy. Yes, and it was more than 15 years ago, i.e. I will have to study the entire course on my own. There was a month left before the exam, and I began to study intensively textbooks in biology, anatomy, and botany. Formulas chemical compositions substances were given with difficulty: I went to work and silently pronounce these unpronounceable names, their composition, formulas.

biology exam

It was this exam that I remember the most. I remember my shock when I saw a question about the composition and structure of the skin, its functions. It seems that there is no way to know, but suddenly I realized that I know nothing about this issue. I drew sketches of the structure of the skin that I saw in the textbook that popped up in my head, but nothing else came to mind.

I was surprised that I remember a page in a textbook, a paragraph number, an illustration, and even my own action - turning the page with a clear mental commentary - this is nonsense, then I will read it. I saw how the text is arranged in the textbook, but what does it say? And suddenly I remembered the teacher of electronics from the technical school, who in his classes liked to tell funny stories. I remembered his anecdotes about unwashed socks that could stand and his further reasoning about washing them, preferably without soap and the need for thorough rinsing so that the skin of the legs breathes. I collected a bunch of facts from life about the quality of washing clothes, about skin care, about creams, about immersing the body in water and the ability of the body to receive oxygen from water using the “holes” in the skin. I told all this to the examiners and attached a drawing of the structure of the skin, which I could not scientifically explain. I was praised for my rich life experience and asked “But what is the structure of the skin anyway?”. All! I am again horrified that specific knowledge is needed and commented on my drawing, but not completely. The examiner corrected me, to which I retorted, which is exactly what is shown in the figure. There, indeed, I painted three layers of skin, and not two, as I said. The amendment was accepted because was documented on a stamped form.

I got an “excellent” mark, but I did not imagine that for such a question I would have to use such deep and forgotten recesses of my memory. Apparently, I really wanted to enter a university (and then become the head of a kindergarten)!

The learning process at USPU

I entered school at the age of 29, having schoolchildren and a job in a kindergarten as a teacher. I studied by correspondence, going to sessions 2 times a year and attending evening classes on Tuesdays in the intersessional period. At the same time, I worked with children in a group, receiving a teacher's salary of 100 rubles, and managed to earn extra money in other groups when there were not enough teachers, increasing my earnings to 120-130 rubles a month. It was not very much, but I liked working, and I finally decided to stay in this structure.

Most of all I liked the subject of psychology, which was taught by a young teacher. I was amazed by her knowledge and experience. The subject itself seemed like some kind of miracle, with the help of which one can get to know a person, plan classes taking into account knowledge about the individual characteristics of a person, and select personnel for work. When they suggested that we replenish our knowledge of psychology through extra classes in 6 subjects, I agreed and as a result received a certificate for the right to conduct practical psychological work with kids.

Oddly enough, I have never been sick for 5 years of study, I have not missed a single class.

University as the beginning of the next stages of education

Studies in psychology led me later to a specialized training in psychoanalysis. With the help of psychology, I was able to get a little closer to my childhood dream of becoming a doctor. many diseases, as it turned out, are psychosomatic in nature and can be cured with the help of psychotherapy.

It was at the pedagogical university that I met a very demanding and at the same time very attentive to students professor of psychology Yakovlev Vasily Ivanovich, under whose guidance I first wrote a term paper on mental hygiene, and then thesis for the prevention of anxiety in preschool children. With his submission, this work became the basis for a Ph.D. thesis. The dissertation was written during the year when I simultaneously passed the candidate's minimum. My second supervisor, August Solomonovich Belkin, professor, doctor of science, academician, helped make this work suitable for practical use in kindergartens. Thus, a year after graduating from the institute, I returned to it to defend my dissertation and stay there to work as a teacher.

Professional development

Even in the process of studying, I changed my mind about being the head of the kindergarten. I wanted to make changes in the education system on a more global level, so in my last year of study I left the position of a methodologist, which I had already worked for 2 years in the position of a specialist in working with preschool institutions(then - inspector) to the district department of education. But I did not like the “paper” work, therefore, having received an offer to go to work at a university, I agreed without hesitation. I was surprised by the work schedule - a lot of free time, which I gradually filled with training in psychoanalysis and practical work with children and parents. Over the course of 15 years of work at the university, I received the title of associate professor, the position of professor, advanced to the defense of my doctoral dissertation, passed the pre-defense and ... suddenly fell ill, so badly that I could no longer go to work at the university. My knowledge as a psychologist told me that this was not an accident, and I left the university on the same day, resigning and continuing to work with children as a psychologist-psychoanalyst. Moreover, my earnings were mainly the result of psychological, and not pedagogical work. So, for example, the rate of a professor in our university is 13,000 rubles.
